TikTok export guide

How to Download Your TikTok Data

Request a copy of your data in TikTok, keep the original ZIP and choose it in InstaScope. Supported TXT categories and named JSON layouts are read in your browser without connecting to your TikTok account.

Request a copy in TikTok

  1. Open TikTok, go to Profile and open the menu. In Settings and privacy, look for Account and Download your data. Follow TikTok's current instructions if its menu has changed.
  2. Choose the information you want to include. Request followers and following for relationship matching; include activity and messages for watch history, searches and conversations.
  3. Choose TXT or JSON and submit the request. Follow the notice in TikTok when the download is ready. Keep the original download rather than copying text from a preview.

Open the original files

In InstaScope, choose TikTok and Open your export. Select one ZIP, one JSON file, or the supported extracted TXT files together. Turkish and English TXT names and field labels are supported; conversation headings can still be in English inside a localized archive.

You do not need to include photos, videos or unrelated account files. The ZIP reader selects the recognized files and checks their integrity. Original TXT files can be useful when a media-rich ZIP exceeds a limit.

Check coverage before reading the numbers

Expand Export coverage & diagnostics after import. Not included means the file or category is absent; included-empty means the export supplied an empty category. Unsupported means a recognizable category has a structure the reader could not interpret.

TikTok's available categories and retained history can vary. An export is a capture of available records, not a live account connection or a guarantee of complete history. Use the official help page below for the current request process.

Sources and responsibility

These instructions describe InstaScope's supported reader and current controls. TikTok determines the categories and history available in your download. Use its official help for the current request process; send corrections through About without attaching private exports.

TikTok's Data Portability documentation is a category reference. InstaScope does not use that API, and its supported download layouts are checked separately with synthetic fixtures.
