How to Find When You Connected with Someone on LinkedIn
Use the Connected On field in Connections.csv to find a recorded LinkedIn connection date. Search for the person in the Connections Analyzer, then review the date on that row. Keep an undated row visible rather than assigning it an estimated date.
Find one connection
- Download an archive containing connections and choose its original ZIP or Connections.csv in the Connections Analyzer.
- Leave Category on Connections. Search for the name, company or position you recognize, and inspect the matching source rows.
- Read Recorded date. If several people share a name, use the exported profile URL to distinguish records where it is available.
These results are calculated from our own fictional CSV records with the working parser and analysis functions. They are separate from your active export.

Find your oldest recorded connections
Choose Oldest recorded date in Sort. Dated rows are ordered from earliest to latest. Undated records remain in the list with an unavailable date; they do not become the oldest or newest connections.
A Recorded year filter narrows dated records to that year. Clear the year filter when checking whether an apparently missing person is simply undated. Company and text filters can narrow the list independently.
Check the CSV yourself
Open a copy of Connections.csv as text and find its header after any Notes lines. Look for First Name, Last Name, URL and Connected On. A calendar value such as 12 Jan 2023 has day precision; it does not supply an exact connection time.
The earliest date in a current export is the earliest included recorded connection date. It cannot establish your first-ever LinkedIn connection or the number of connections you had on that day.
Keep a list of the rows you reviewed
Use Download filtered CSV for all matching records, or select specific rows and download the selection. A connection CSV can contain names, profile URLs and company labels. Keep that file private or remove fields before sharing it.
