How to Review Your LinkedIn Job Application History

Use Career & Learning to review the Job Applications and Saved Jobs files in your LinkedIn export. Choose the relevant category, search a job or company, and filter by recorded year. Application records and saved-job records describe different actions.

About these guides and corrections · Updated

Open the application records

  1. Choose the original archive or the supported CSV files from its Jobs folder, then open Career & Learning.
  2. Set Category to Job applications. Search the job title or company and inspect the recorded application date.
  3. Choose Saved jobs separately when looking for a bookmarked role. Use Recorded year and sorting to narrow the list before downloading it.

Separate applications from bookmarks

A saved job is not an application. The two categories have separate coverage and totals, even if they refer to the same listing. A missing application category means it was not supplied; it does not establish that you never applied for a job.

InstaScope counts the exported application records and retains their source date basis. It cannot add applications made outside LinkedIn or recover a role omitted from the export.

Use a private CSV as a review list

Search and filter the category, then download the matching records or a selected subset. The resulting file can be useful beside your own application notes. Job links are displayed only when a usable allowlisted URL exists; opening one is your choice.

Screening answers, saved application answers, phone numbers and resume references are not imported. There are no verified interview, rejection or offer outcomes from which to calculate an application success rate.

Review dates across career categories

Timeline can place supported application dates alongside positions, education and Learning records. Its entries retain source precision: an experience month and an application timestamp are different kinds of evidence. These are dates in the current export rather than a reconstructed employment record.

Sources and responsibility

LinkedIn's documentation describes the export request and the records it can supply. The worked examples use independent fictional inputs and InstaScope's current reader. Account coverage and upstream file formats can vary.
