Facebook app and website history

App Time Machine reads app names, exported statuses and recorded added or removed dates from your own Facebook download. Search your past connections without a live permissions check.

Your ZIP stays on this device. No uploads, login or automatic saving.

How to read your Facebook app history

  1. In Facebook Accounts Center, download your information and include Apps and websites. Choose JSON for the verified structured records and an All time range if you want older entries.
  2. Open one original, unencrypted ZIP in the tool above. Keep its folders and filenames; combining JSON and HTML versions of the same export is not supported.
  3. Search app names, filter the exported status, and choose added or removed dates to explore recorded years. Check source coverage before interpreting an empty result.

Which app export files are supported?

The JSON reader recognizes the Apps and websites file below, using its exported app names, statuses and added or removed timestamps. App identifiers, tokens and unrelated device or session data are discarded.

For HTML, only the independently verified Turkish app groups and tables are supported. Their dates lack timezone and instant precision, so coverage is partial. Other HTML languages or layouts remain unsupported; requesting JSON is the practical next step.

An exported status is a historical record

Active, inactive and removed describe the values supplied by your export. They do not establish which permissions an app has now, whether it is safe, or whether a removal succeeded later. Missing dates stay unknown, and unsupported status values are not guessed.

Review current app access in Facebook's own settings if you want to change a permission. InstaScope reads the ZIP locally, without a Facebook login, archive upload or account action.

Fictional worked example · calculated by InstaScope

Three app records, two dated additions

Three invented app records pass through the actual JSON parser and history analysis. One is exported as active, one as removed and one has an unrecognized status. Only two include an added date.

The year chart has one addition in 2016 and one in 2020. The third app stays undated. One removal is recorded in 2022, which does not turn the export into a current permissions check.
