Four outgoing follows, with recorded dates
Two independently invented exports, analyzed with the same calculations as the working tools. No real accounts or usage figures.
| Connection | Recorded outgoing date | In Followers too? |
|---|---|---|
| Outgoing follow 1 | 2021-05-12 | Yes: mutual |
| Outgoing follow 2 | 2024-01-01 | Yes: mutual |
| Outgoing follow 3 | Date unavailable | No: not following back |
| Outgoing follow 4 | Date unavailable | No: not following back |
The first connection’s incoming Followers date is August 3, 2022; its outgoing date is May 12, 2021. Neither proves continuous following. Missing dates stay unavailable.
Make your following list easier to review
Start with the accounts you chose to follow. Search for a username, sort alphabetically, or use recorded dates from supported JSON and HTML exports to look at older and newer connections. You can see which relationships are mutual and which accounts do not appear in your followers export.
An old follow is not automatically a bad follow. InstaScope does not assign an activity score or guess whether a person is worth following; the list gives you context for your own decisions.
What the recorded dates can tell you
When Instagram supplies a usable relationship date, InstaScope displays its calendar date and makes sorting available. JSON timestamps identify an instant; supported HTML dates omit the timezone and are kept as lower-precision recorded dates. Missing or malformed dates stay unavailable.
The timeline groups dates for relationships still present in the export. It cannot reconstruct everyone you ever followed or your historical following total. Two exports are needed to compare their totals and membership.
Bring both relationship directions
Choose Followers and Following with the All time range when requesting your export. The following list supplies the accounts you follow; the followers list makes mutual and one-way analysis possible. JSON offers more date detail than HTML.
Select your ZIP above or both extracted lists together. The data stays on your device. When you are ready to act, Cleaner lets you select and export a manual review list without giving InstaScope access to your Instagram account.

A little more clarity.
Where do follow dates come from?
Dates come from usable values in Instagram's JSON or supported HTML records. HTML dates do not include a timezone; if no valid date is present, we show Date unavailable.
What happens to my data?
Your archive stays in this browser’s memory. Clear it or close the tab to remove it. If you choose to save a local snapshot, follower and following usernames remain in this browser until you delete them or clear site data. Public-photo searches, when enabled, send the entered username to our separate lookup service.
How do I get the right export?
Choose Followers and Following with the All time date range in Instagram’s Accounts Center. JSON is recommended. Include the relevant optional connection categories for requests, privacy lists and your own unfollow history. Read the export guide
