Export help and limits
Include optional connection categories in the same ZIP or selection to explore requests, privacy lists and your unfollow history.
What to include for this task
- Connections and Wrapped
Followers and Following; All time
JSON or supported HTML in the original ZIP - Instagram conversations
Messages, including the conversation JSON parts
JSON ZIP; media only when physically included
Wait for the platform to finish preparing the download. Keep the original folder structure and choose the supported files together. A category that was not exported is unavailable, not empty.
Following minus Followers: two accounts
Two independently invented exports, analyzed with the same calculations as the working tools. No real accounts or usage figures.
- Following
- 4
- Mutuals excluded
- 2
- Not following back
- 2
Two mutual connections are excluded because they appear in both lists. Neither result says that either remaining account previously followed you.
What not following back means
This list contains accounts in your following export that are absent from your followers export. In plain language: you follow them, and they do not appear to follow you in the data you supplied. It can include creators, shops and friends; the tool does not judge which connections are worth keeping.
For example, if you follow three accounts and two also appear among your followers, the remaining account is a one-way follow. The reverse direction is shown under Fans: people who follow you, whom you do not follow back.
How the check works
Download your own Instagram information with Followers and Following, the All time range and preferably JSON. Select the ZIP above, or select both lists together. InstaScope normalizes usernames, removes duplicate account records and compares the two lists locally in your browser.
Search the results, change the sorting or open a profile for your own review. To create a shortlist, use InstaCleaner and export the accounts you select. No Instagram account action is performed automatically.
One-way follows and unfollowers are different
A single export cannot establish that someone previously followed you. They may never have followed you, or the export may be incomplete. Comparing an older and newer export can show which usernames disappeared from the followers list; it still does not establish why they disappeared or exactly when.
Renames, deactivated accounts and different export ranges can also change what appears in a list. Treat these results as a description of the supplied snapshots, not continuous monitoring.
Check your circle without sharing a password
The analyzer reads your export on your device. There is no Instagram login or archive upload to an InstaScope server. Current results remain in tab memory until you clear them or leave the session. If you choose to save a local snapshot, only follower and following usernames persist in this browser for a later comparison. If you open a profile, your browser visits Instagram directly.
Use a fresh export when you want an updated view. The results are not live follower counts, and InstaScope cannot reveal profile visitors or private content.

A little more clarity.
Does this prove someone unfollowed me?
No. One export shows the current relationship lists in that export. Compare two snapshots to see which accounts appear or disappear, without guessing why.
What happens to my data?
Your archive stays in this browser’s memory. Clear it or close the tab to remove it. If you choose to save a local snapshot, follower and following usernames remain in this browser until you delete them or clear site data. Public-photo searches, when enabled, send the entered username to our separate lookup service.
How do I get the right export?
Choose Followers and Following with the All time date range in Instagram’s Accounts Center. JSON is recommended. Include the relevant optional connection categories for requests, privacy lists and your own unfollow history. Read the export guide
