How to Find Your Oldest Instagram Followers
Find your oldest recorded Instagram followers by sorting the dates in your own export. Explore incoming follower dates privately, without an Instagram password.
Sort the dates recorded for accounts that follow you
To find your oldest Instagram followers, open your own export in Followers Analyzer, select Followers and choose Oldest recorded followers in Sort accounts. InstaScope puts usable dates in order, with undated accounts at the end. The earliest dated result is the oldest recorded follower in that supplied list, not proof that this person was your first-ever follower.
Followers are accounts that follow you; Following contains accounts you follow. Sorting Following answers who you followed earliest instead. Even for a mutual connection, the dates in those two directions can differ.
A small fictional list makes the ordering clear: sample.fern has August 3, 2022 recorded, sample.oak has January 1, 2024, and sample.cedar has no date. Fern comes before oak; cedar stays at the end. Cedar could in reality be older than either, but this export cannot place it.
Get the complete set of available follower records
Request Followers and Following through Instagram's Accounts Center, choosing All time coverage when available. Open the downloaded ZIP in InstaScope. If you select extracted files, include every numbered followers part as well as the following file; an omitted part can omit an early follower.
InstaScope reads supported JSON timestamps and visible dates in supported HTML records. JSON dates are displayed using UTC; HTML dates preserve their recorded calendar date without an inferred timezone. A missing or malformed date stays unavailable, and the account remains visible.
Your archive is analyzed locally in your browser. InstaScope does not ask for your Instagram password or send the archive away for analysis.
Search one follower or explore the incoming timeline
In Followers, use Search accounts to find a specific username and inspect its recorded date. Clear the search before looking for the earliest dated account across the full loaded list. Newest recorded followers reverses the date order without switching to accounts you follow.
The Explore oldest recorded followers link below opens Relationship Timeline with Accounts that follow you already selected. Load your export there to browse the oldest dated records or group the incoming relationships by year or month. Those groups count dated records in this export, not your follower total at each past date.
Why the oldest recorded follower may not be your first follower
A current export does not reconstruct everyone who ever followed you. Earlier followers may no longer be present, some records may lack dates, and limited export coverage can leave relationships out. An account that unfollowed and followed again may have a different recorded date.
A recorded date also does not establish uninterrupted following from that day. One export cannot reveal every intervening follow and unfollow or reconstruct historical follower totals. Use two comparable exports when your question is which usernames changed between snapshots.
FAQ: Can I date an account that says Date unavailable?
There is no usable source date for that record in the imported files. List position, account age and the date you downloaded the ZIP are not substitutes. InstaScope keeps the account undated rather than inventing a place for it in your history.
Fictional incoming Followers, oldest recorded first
These invented records use the account list's date ordering. Undated accounts remain after the dated results; no age is inferred for them.

|---|---|---|
| 1 | sample.fern | 2022-08-03 |
